Ingredients:
- Dark chocolate (70% or higher cocoa content)
- Fresh mint leaves
- Heavy cream
- Granulated sugar
- Unsalted butter
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate chips (white, milk, or dark)
- Salt (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth.
Step 2: In a separate bowl, combine the heavy cream, granulated sugar, and unsalted butter. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Step 3: Add the fresh mint leaves to the cream mixture and whisk until they are fully incorporated.
Step 4: Line a baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil, and set it aside.
Step 5: Pour the melted chocolate into the prepared baking dish.
Step 6: Use an offset spatula or a knife to create a layer of whipped cream on top of the chocolate.
Step 7: Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the whipped cream layer.
Step 8 (optional): If using salt, sprinkle it over the chocolate chips.
Step 9: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is set and the whipped cream is firm.
Step 10: Remove the baking dish from the refrigerator and use an offset spatula to loosen the edges of the dessert. Invert the dessert onto a serving plate, if necessary.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
