Ingredients:
- Fresh strawberries
- Fresh basil leaves
- Prosecco or sparkling wine
- Simple syrup (equal parts water and granulated sugar, dissolved)
- Lemon juice
Instructions:
- Rinse the fresh strawberries and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a blender or food processor, puree the strawberries until smooth.
- Transfer the strawberry puree to a bowl and mix in the simple syrup until well combined.
- Stir in the Prosecco or sparkling wine and lemon juice.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness and acidity as needed by adding more simple syrup or lemon juice.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the strawberry sparkling wine chilled, garnished with fresh basil leaves if desired.
