Ingredients:

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Prosecco or sparkling wine
  • Simple syrup (equal parts water and granulated sugar, dissolved)
  • Lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the fresh strawberries and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a blender or food processor, puree the strawberries until smooth.
  3. Transfer the strawberry puree to a bowl and mix in the simple syrup until well combined.
  4. Stir in the Prosecco or sparkling wine and lemon juice.
  5. Taste and adjust the sweetness and acidity as needed by adding more simple syrup or lemon juice.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  7. Serve the strawberry sparkling wine chilled, garnished with fresh basil leaves if desired.
