Ingredients:

  • Blackberries
  • Sugar
  • Water

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the blackberries and remove any stems or debris.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the blackberries and sugar.
  3. Add water to the saucepan and stir to combine.
  4. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the blackberries have broken down and the mixture has thickened slightly.
  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool slightly before transferring the blackberry mixture to a blender or food processor.
  7. Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the blender as needed.
  8. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean container, discarding any solids.
  9. Store the blackberry puree in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 6 months.
