Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, diced onion, minced garlic, diced red bell pepper, and diced jalapeno pepper. Mix well with your hands until everything is fully incorporated.
  3. Add tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture and mix again until everything is well combined.
  4. Form the meat mixture into small patties, about 1/2 inch (1 cm) thick. Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Brush the tops of the patties with water and season with additional salt and pepper if desired.
  6. Bake the burgers for 18-20 minutes, or until they are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  7. Remove the burgers from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro (if using). Serve hot on a bun with your favorite toppings.
