Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, diced onion, minced garlic, diced red bell pepper, and diced jalapeno pepper. Mix well with your hands until everything is fully incorporated.
- Add tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture and mix again until everything is well combined.
- Form the meat mixture into small patties, about 1/2 inch (1 cm) thick. Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the patties with water and season with additional salt and pepper if desired.
- Bake the burgers for 18-20 minutes, or until they are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the burgers from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro (if using). Serve hot on a bun with your favorite toppings.
