Ingredients:
- Cherries
- Sugar
- Water
- Lemon juice
- Vanilla extract
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the cherries. Wash and dry them thoroughly.
Step 2: In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar has dissolved.
Step 3: Add the prepared cherries to the saucepan and cook for about 10-15 minutes or until they are tender and heated through.
Step 4: Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Use an immersion blender or a regular blender to puree the cherries until smooth.
Step 5: Strain the cherry puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean glass jar. Discard any seeds or pulp.
Step 6: Store the cherry syrup in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
